Wyoming hires new defensive line coach from LSU

Wyoming has officially announced the addition of Derrick LeBlanc as the Cowboys’ new defensive line coach. LeBlanc came to Wyoming from LSU, where he was the assistant strength and conditioning coordinator.

“I am extremely pleased we have been able to add Derrick LeBlanc to our coaching staff,” said Wyoming coach Dave Christensen. “He comes to us from LSU where he was part of a very successful program. He has a lot of experience working with some outstanding football coaches. Among the coaches he has worked with is a gentleman by the name of Pete Jenkins (retired defensive line coach formerly with LSU and the Philadelphia Eagles), who we did some work with this past winter to school our defense. Derrick is a very strong family man with high morals, and adds another successful coach to our staff.”

“What a great opportunity to be here in Wyoming” said LeBlanc. “Coach Christensen has done a great job over the last three years. To be given the opportunity to come here and help build on the success that Wyoming has had over the past several years is something I know will be a great experience for me and my family.”

LeBlanc has previously coached at Missouri State and Arkansas Tech (both defensive line). LeBlanc will share the D-line duties with current assistant Matt Rahl.
