Jets re-signed QB David Fales to a one-year contract.
Fales has been one of Adam Gase’s teacher’s pets going back to their time together in Chicago. There is zero evidence Fales can be a competent No. 2, but Gase must love the way he practices. We would hope Gang Green can do better behind third-year pro Sam Darnold.

    Jets re-signed QB David Fales.
With Sam Darnold still feeling the effects of mono, Fales will serve as Luke Falk’s backup Sunday against the Eagles. Fales hasn’t attempted an NFL pass since 2017.

    Jets released QB David Fales.
The move is a good sign that the Jets feel confident in Sam Darnold’s chances at suiting up for the Jets’ Week 5 matchup against the Eagles following the team’s Week 4 bye. Fales served as Luke Falk’s backup in Week 3.

    Jets signed QB David Fales.
Fales knows coach Adam Gase’s offense after spending time with him in Miami the previous two seasons. With Sam Darnold (mono) and Trevor Siemian (ankle) out, the Jets now have Luke Falk and Fales as options under center. Always good to have the Dolphins’ Nos. 3 and 4 QBs from 2018.

Free agent QB David Fales visited the Colts.
Fales got the boot from Detroit a few days ago. With Chad Kelly suspended for the first two games and Phillip Walker reverting to the Colts’ practice squad, Jacoby Brissett is the only quarterback on Indy’s active roster. The Colts are also said to be pursuing Brian Hoyer, though there’s a good chance he winds up back with the Patriots.

    Lions released QB David Fales.
Fales got extensive reps this preseason but was never going to make the Opening Day roster. The Lions saw more upside in former AAF QB Luis Perez — who has practice squad eligibility.

Free agent QB David Fales visited the Vikings on Friday.
The Vikes are seeking a veteran to back up Kirk Cousins. Fales would fit the bill, though he left Friday’s visit without a contract. A sixth-round pick of the Bears in 2014, Fales has thrown for 287 yards with one touchdown over three NFL games with his last appearance coming as a Dolphin in 2017.

San Jose State QB David Fales clocked unofficial forty times of 4.94 and 5.03 at the NFL Combine.
Fales isn’t a plus athlete like Andy Dalton, but his passing skill set is similar as a timing-and-rhythm thrower who lacks a big arm. Fales has a chance to enter the day-two conversation, but is going to be drafted as a clear backup.
  • FA Quarterback
San Jose State QB David Fales will throw at the Combine.
Fales is the kind of prospect who would be crazy not to do all he could at the Combine. A likely day-three selection, Fales has much more to gain than lose. Fales is accurate and patient in the pocket, but faces major questions about his arm strength at the NFL level.

Bears signed QB David Fales off the Ravens’ practice squad.
It’s a sure sign that Jay Cutler (shoulder) will be out Sunday against the Titans. With Connor Shaw (leg) and Brian Hoyer (forearm) both on injured reserve, Fales will slide in as the backup behind presumed starter Matt Barkley. At this point, the Bears would be better off tanking down the stretch so they can at least improve their draft position. Fales has never played an NFL snap.
