Washington placed TE Dylan Cantrell on injured reserve.
Cantrell reverted to IR after clearing waivers. The 26-year-old has yet to make a regular season appearance.

    Cardinals signed WR/TE Dylan Cantrell.
Cantrell was not in the NFL last season and now reunites with his college coach for another chance at making a roster. The 2018 sixth-round selection posted an absurd 99th percentile athletic profile out of college, which is a trait worth taking a shot on at this point in the calendar. ESPN’s Field Yates suggests a move to tight end might be in the cards.

    Chargers waived/injured WR Dylan Cantrell.
The Bolts also cut WR Fred Trevillion while signing receivers Malachi Dupre and Jordan Smallwood. A sixth-round pick out of Texas Tech in 2018, Cantrell spent most of last season on the Chargers’ practice squad. He has yet to log an NFL snap.
  • FA Wide Receiver #45
Chargers coach Anthony Lynn mentioned 2018 6th-round WR Dylan Cantrell as a player who needs to step up with Tyrell Williams gone.
Cantrell spent most of his rookie season on the practice squad, but the Chargers protected him by promoting him to the active roster in December. With 4.59 wheels, Cantrell is not a like-for-like replacement for Williams, but he flashed traits of a solid possession option at Texas Tech. It would not be a surprise if he worked his way into three-wide sets.
  • FA Wide Receiver #45
Chargers promoted WR Dylan Cantrell from their practice squad.
A sixth-round pick out of Texas Tech, Cantrell is a Dynasty name to monitor with Tyrell Williams and Travis Benjamin’s futures in flux. For the rest of 2018, Cantrell figures to focus on special teams if active on game days.
  • FA Wide Receiver #45
Chargers selected Texas Tech WR Dylan Cantrell with the No. 191 overall pick in the 2018 NFL draft.
A big-bodied (6-foot-3, 226 pounds) possession receiver, Cantrell recorded 129 catches for 1,491 yards (11.56 YPR) and 15 touchdowns over his final two seasons at Texas Tech. Cantrell unsurprisingly ran a 4.59 at the Combine, but he showed extremely well in the explosion drills (38.5-inch vertical, 130-inch broad) and managed the 3-cone drill in 6.56. Cantrell’s floor is as a possession receiver with good balls skills, and his testing numbers suggest he could develop into something more.
