Reynolds

Reynolds went down early in training camp with a serious knee injury. He was likely given an injury settlement. Cleveland also cut DL Cam Johnson.

He went down at Sunday’s training camp practice. Reynolds made seven starts last year and was in contention for the Browns’ starting free safety job.

Reynolds earned plenty of honors at Stanford but isn’t a great athlete. He has a bit of a nose for the ball (seven interceptions the past two seasons) but will likely max out as a third safety/special teamer in the pros.

Reynolds (6-foot-1, 207) earned first-team All-Pac 12 honors as a redshirt sophomore and junior before turning pro, finishing his career with seven interceptions. He played free safety for the Cardinal. Reynolds ran 4.57 at the Combine with a 32 1/2-inch vertical and 9-foot-9 broad jump. Reynolds is not an overly athletic or physical safety, has very little experience in man coverage and missed too many tackles in college. Despite his decorated résumé, Reynolds will likely max out as a third safety/special teamer in the pros.

A 2014 fifth-rounder out of Stanford, Reynolds spent all of last season on the Eagles’ practice squad. He could be headed there again if he clears waivers.
