The 32-year-old journeyman has yet to break into the big leagues and is merely extra organizational depth for the Angels at the Triple-A level.

    Briceno spent nearly a decade in the Tigers’ minor league system before pitching the last two years for the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs of the independent Atlantic League. The 30-year-old right-hander posted a microscopic 0.76 ERA, 0.82 WHIP and 73/19 K/BB ratio across 47 2/3 innings (46 appearances) this past season to earn another shot in affiliated ball with the Diamondbacks next year.
