Giants optioned RHP Tristan Beck and INF/OF Wade Meckler to Triple-A Sacramento and reassigned C Logan Porter, LHP Enny Romero and INF Mike Lamb to minor league camp.
No real surprises here. Beck has a chance to make starts for the Giants in 2025, but was never going to make the Opening Day rotation. Meckler will likely be a bench option at some point this summer for San Francisco.

Giants signed LHP Enny Romero to a minor league contract.
Romero hasn’t appeared in the big leagues since 2018 when he made eight relief appearances split between the Nationals, Pirates and Royals. The 34-year-old journeyman southpaw has spent the past several years overseas in Japan including stints with the Chunichi Dragons and Chiba Lotte Marines. He’ll presumably give the Giants some extra relief depth in spring training.

Rays purchased the contract of LHP Enny Romero from High-A Charlotte.
Romero has consistently battled control issue, but the 21-year-old has an arm that the Rays weren’t going to left unprotected for the Rule 5 Draft. He put up a 3.93 ERA and 107/76 K/BB ratio over 126 High-A innings.

Rays recalled LHP Enny Romero from Triple-A Durham.
Romero, 22, will start in the Rays’ series finale Sunday against the Orioles. The left-hander is one of the Rays’ best pitching prospects, owning a 2.61 ERA over 28 starts between Double-A and Triple-A this season, but he’s not a recommended fantasy streamer.

Enny Romero could be used in relief this week.
The 22-year-old left-hander started and threw 4 2/3 scoreless innings against the Orioles in his major league debut on Sunday at Tropicana Field, yielding just one hit. Tampa Bay is stocked with young pitching talent, but Romero may be in the running for a rotation spot next spring. He posted a 2.61 ERA in 28 starts this year between Double-A and Triple-A.

Enny Romero tossed 4 2/3 scoreless innings against the Orioles in his MLB debut on Sunday.
Romero walked four, but he used his nasty raw stuff to induce nine groundball outs and the 22-year-old left-hander yielded just one hit. Romero has a bright future in the Rays’ starting rotation and could be given a legitimate shot to claim a permanent spot next spring.

He’s earned it with a 2.76 ERA with 110 strikeouts over 140 1/3 Double-A innings. The 22-year-old will make his Triple-A debut on Monday and should be part of the Bulls’ rotation during the International League playoffs.

Enny Romero (back) will make a rehab appearance Thursday with High-A Charlotte.
Romero had a successful simulated workout on Monday and got the go-ahead Tuesday to begin a minor league rehab assignment. He owns an underwhelming 5.23 ERA and 32/20 K/BB ratio in 32 2/3 innings of relief this season at the major league level.
