Here we go with the College Hoops DFS slate for the evening slate on Wednesday, March 9. We have seven games on FanDuel and 11 games on DraftKings with lineups locking at 7:00 ET and 6:00 ET respectively. The following analysis will highlight several top plays, bargains, and other information you need to know in order to create a cash-inducing squad.
With that, let’s get to the daily fantasy analysis!
TOP PLAYS
Scottie Pippen Jr. - G - Vanderbilt (FD: $8,500 / DK: $9,800)
Pippen is expensive, but he should be worth every penny on this slate. The matchup is ridiculously good against a Georgia team that ranks 308th in defensive efficiency (!) and 93rd in tempo. Pippen has achieved 47+ fantasy points in three of his last four games, and this is an excellent spot to keep him going. Roster him with confidence, then surround him with value plays on FanDuel and DraftKings.
Kario Oquendo - G - Georgia (FD: $6,200 / DK: $7,700)
This Vanderbilt-Georgia game has one of the highest over/unders of the night at 144. Part of that has to do with Georgia’s terrible defense, but the Bulldogs will definitely contribute to that total as well. Oquendo is more plausible for 6.2k on FanDuel, and he has some upside in his profile, hitting 38+ FP in three of his last ten games. That leads to a solid 29 FPPG mark over that span, and there’s a chance Oquendo will play nearly the entire game in this elimination contest.
Branden Carlson - F - Utah (FD: $6,500 / DK: $6,800)
Utah-Washington is another tilt with a high over/under listed at 141. The Huskies play fast (40th in tempo) with a mediocre defense that ranks 103rd in d-efficiency. Washington also ranks 321st in rebound rate this season. That presents an interesting opportunity for Carlson, who stands at 7’0”. The Utah big man posted 30 fantasy points against Washington last time around, and he could build on that tonight.
Also Consider: Micahel Flowers, Justyn Mutts, Alonzo Verge Jr. (DK)
BARGAINS
Efe Abogidi - F - Washington State (FD: $5,500 / DK: $4,900)
Washington State takes on Cal, a team that got absolutely trounced in its last two games of the season. The Cougars step in as eight-point favorites, and we could see an efficient line out of Abogidi. There’s a reason for optimism here, especially at a non-imposing salary. Abogidi has been up-and-down all season, but he has reached 35-45 fantasy points several times. That includes 44 FP at Cal on Feb. 5. A repeat performance isn’t out of the question.
Lars Thiemann - F - California (FD: $5,400 / DK: $5,000)
Thiemann has been seeing more playing time for Cal down the stretch. That has translated to a reasonable 22 FPPG average over his last four. It’s worth noting that he has gone over 30 FP two times over that stretch. It’s difficult to bank on him to exceed that threshold on Wednesday, but Thiemann is a fine bargain filler who will let you roster the aforementioned top plays.
Nate Roberts - F - Washington (FD: $7,400 / DK: $5,700)
Roberts has been a beast for Washington while posting 39 fantasy points in each of his last two games. FanDuel quickly marked up his salary, but he’s still too cheap on DraftKings for $5,700. The 6’11” forward has been cleaning the glass with 16 rebounds in each of his last two contests. Now he’s facing a Utah team that ranks 168th in defensive efficiency and 169th in rebound rate. Expect another solid outing from Roberts on Wednesday.
