Tua Tagovailoa completed 26-of-32 passes for 315 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception in the Dolphins’ 33-27, Week 2 loss to the Patriots.
The Dolphins offense finally got going against the Patriots, starting their scoring in the second quarter. Tagovailoa threw a first-drive interception that was called back for penalty before connecting with Jaylen Waddle for an 18-yard touchdown on the team’s second drive and leading a two-minute drill for a score at the end of the first half. He underthrew Tyreek Hill on a 47-yard completion in the second half, with Hill working his way back to the ball and the Patriots defender overrunning the throw to allow for a completion. Tagovailoa’s day ended in a rough manner, throwing a fourth-down interception and getting sacked on a differnt fourth down to end the Dolphins’ final two drives. The Dolphins offense was clicking again, but Tagovailoa did not do enough to achieve the win. He will be low-end fantasy QB2 against the Bills in Week 3.
