Playing out of the sixth-to-last twosome, second-round co-leader and World No. 223 Ryan Armour patched together a 1-under-par 35-35=70 in the final round of the 3M Open to finish up his third appearance on 11-under 273, down two spots to T6, four adrift of champion Cameron Champ, who played the weekend in 67-66.
The 45-year-old, who co-led with Adam Hadwin at the midpoint, falls to 1-for-5 as a 36-hole leader/co-leader, zero for his last three. He does record his first finish inside the top 40 at the 3M (T42/2019), and hangs for his fourth top 10 of the season in 26 events, second straight after a season-best T5 at last week’s opposite-field Barbasol, where he was in the top 10 after every round. For the week, the Ohio State alum posted laps of 67-65-71-70, totaled 15 birdies versus four bogeys, and ranked 19th in SG: Off-the-Tee (2.110), 47th in SG: Approach (-0.099), 36th in SG: Around (0.135), 5th in SG: Putting (6.442), and 38th in SG: Tee-to-Green (2.161).
