From the late wave, World No. 125 Patton Kizzire fashioned a bogey-free 4-under 33-34=67 in R1 of the RBC Heritage to sit T10 on the board, four adrift of leader and PGA TOUR rookie Cameron Young.
The Sea Island, Georgia, resident is making his seventh appearance with a best of T14 during his rookie campaign in 2016, where he opened with 69 (68-71-74). That 69 was his best round out of the gate on Hilton Head Island before today’s showing on seven (of 14) fairways and 11 greens in regulation. The Auburn alum penciled four birdies at holes 2, 5, 8 and 15, birdieing each of the three par 5s, and posted a -0.459 SG: Off-the-Tee, 2.961 SG: Approach, 0.772 SG: Around, and eked out a 0.093 SG: Putting, missing three birdie chances from inside of 11 feet. This is his fourth time this season in 16 events that he’s in the top 10 after 18 holes with none of the prior three resulting in a top-10 finish.
