DRAFT is back for another season of quick and exciting daily fantasy action. Their DFS platform offers poolies with a chance to participate in a format that most of us have grown very accustomed to over the years. You can compete in a live snake draft in which the participants take a player with each pick. Unlike other DFS games, this gives you the opportunity to use your knowledge to craft a team that no one else will have because the players you select cannot be chosen by your competition.

The draft is quick as you are allotted just 30 seconds per pick and you take five players. Your team is comprised of three forwards, a defenseman and a goalie.

Your strategy can be dictated by the positions being selected ahead of you. For instance, if you are going last and everyone else has a goaltender then you can wait until your last pick to make that selection. Of course, selecting players going up against weaker competition or players who are riding hot streaks are always popular strategies as well.

Remember, there are new pools available to play in but the players in my rankings will fall off the table as soon as the puck drops in their respective game.

Familiarize yourself with the rues and enjoy! It’s a great game! Tuesday’s nine-game slate features eight-person, six-person and plenty of three-person drafts. There are also head-to-heads and Dream Team formats to participate in.

Forward Rankings:

Brad Marchand easily could have made the list as well, so if you snag Pastrnak or Bergeron then taking him would be a good idea. Colorado’s top line has been outstanding as well this season and they garner plenty of attention as well. The top guns of Washington and Winnipeg will also be well-represented on rosters Wednesday night. The Capitals will play for the second time in two nights, while the Jets have been rolling with Wheeler and Scheifele leading the charge up front. O’Reilly makes for an intriguing option, as he will take a 10-game point streak into the Blues’ contest against Chicago. He makes for a strong stack play with Tarasenko.

Defense Rankings:

Byfuglien gets the nod over Carlson because he is riding a six-game point streak and isn’t playing for the second time in two nights. Still, it should be noted that he skipped practice Tuesday, but he is expected to play. Meanwhile, Pietrangelo has heated up three goals and three assists in his last six games and Krug has a four-game assist spree.

Goaltender Rankings:

Hellebuyck has been red hot and could benefit from facing a tired Capitals team. Gibson is coming off a win over Nashville and has been excellent this year despite a 6-6-3 record. Additionally, Vegas has struggled so far in the club’s second season. Halak has been superb, but faces a difficult matchup on the road versus Colorado. Still, he stands a good chance to get another win. Allen should make his first start since Nov. 3 and he needs a strong game with confidence in his play rapidly deteriorating and Chad Johnson threatening to take more starts. If you don’t feel comfortable with Allen then Semyon Varlamov has upside despite facing the Bruins.

Now, let’s also look at some players to consider for FanDuel and DraftKings. Keep in mind that FanDuel allows you to roster nine players (2C, 4W, 2D, 1G) with a salary cap of $55,000, while DraftKings has a cap of $50,000 for nine players (2C, 3W, 2D, 1G, 1UTIL).

Ryan O’Reilly (STL) - C - $6,700 (FanDuel), $6,600 (DraftKings)

Evgeny Kuznetsov (WSH) - C - $7,300 (FanDuel), $5,300 (DraftKings)

Tom Wilson (WSH) - W - $4,600 (FanDuel), $3,900 (DraftKings)

Tyson Barrie (COL) - D - $5,000 (FanDuel), $4,800 (DraftKings)

Alex Tuch (VGK) - W - $4,900 (FanDuel), $5,600 (DraftKings)

Nikolaj Ehlers (WPG) - W - $5,100 (FanDuel), $5,400 (DraftKings)

Blake Wheeler (WPG) - W - $7,800 (FanDuel), $6,800 (DraftKings)

As previously mentioned, O’Reilly has been red hot. Kuznetsov comes in at a very good price on DraftKings. He is back with Ovechkin and Tom Wilson, who returned on Tuesday after his suspension reduced. Wilson scored a goal in first game back and has a bargain cap hit if he can find the scoresheet again. Tuch and Barrie have been productive lately and should plenty of bang for the buck as well. Ehlers and Wheeler should make for a very good stack play.
