It was an eventful Monday, starting with the induction of the six new members into the Hockey Hall of Fame. Congratulations go out to Hayley Wickenheiser, Sergei Zubov, Guy Charbonneau, Vaclav Nedomansky, Jim Rutherford and Jerry York.
The three stars of the week were announced and Connor McDavid was the first star based on his three goals and 10 points in three games.
Nathan MacKinnon was the second star as he had four goals and seven points in three games while Keith Yandle had a big week for the Florida Panthers with a goal and seven assists as the defenseman was named the third star of the week.
The New Jersey Devils placed goaltender Cory Schneider on waivers and if he passes through as should be expected, he will be sent to the minors. Schneider is 0-4-1 this season and has lost his starting gig in New Jersey to Mackenzie Blackwood.
The Montreal Canadiens received bad news as Jonathan Drouin required wrist surgery Monday and will be out indefinitely. As well, Paul Byron will need knee surgery Tuesday and there is no timetable for his return at this time.
