DUBAI, United Arab Emirates – Tiger Woods says he plans to talk with developers about reviving his stalled golf estate, which was hit by Dubai’s financial downturn.
A statement last month by the golf course developer – part of a conglomerate controlled by Dubai’s debt-squeezed ruler – said “market conditions” were behind the decision to suspend work on The Tiger Woods Dubai, which also includes a boutique hotel and sheik-style palaces.
Woods, in Dubai to play at the Dubai Desert Classic, says he has meetings set up with Dubai Properties Group, adding that “a lot depends” on what the developer wants to do.
Only a few holes have been completed on the $1 billion course, the centerpiece for a complex of 100 villas, 75 mansions and 22 palaces.
