Free agent OT Greg Robinson was arrested Monday in Thibodaux, La. on nine felony drug charges.
Robinson, 29, was pulled over for a traffic violation around midnight, and a police dog alerted at the presence of narcotics. Officers discovered 38.89 pounds of marijuana, 3.16 pounds of crystal methamphetamine, 2.22 pounds of cocaine, 4 grams of crack cocaine, 227 doses of hydrocodone, 48 doses of oxycodone and 18 doses of alprazolam along with “a large assortment of drug trafficking and packaging equipment/paraphernalia, firearm magazines and ammunition and a small amount of U.S. currency.” It’s Robinson’s second drug-related arrest in the last two years after he fell out of the league following the 2019 season. Robinson remained in jail Wednesday on $315,000 bond. The former No. 2 overall pick of the Rams is one of the biggest draft busts in recent memory.

TMZ reports Browns LT Greg Robinson was arrested by the border patrol for federal charge of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.
Robinson reportedly didn’t clear the border checkpoint because he was found with “a lot” of marijuana, enough to charge him with intent to distribute. It’s unclear how much trouble he’s in, but he certainly can be facing discipline from the league. NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero notes the Browns already had no intentions of re-signing their free agent tackle, so he’ll have to explain his actions to other teams this offseason on his free agency tour. Robinson isn’t likely to sign a big contract.

Browns LT Greg Robinson has cleared the league’s concussion protocol.
As long as he doesn’t suffer any setbacks in practice, Robinson should be back out there against the Bengals after missing Week 13 against the Steelers. Justin McCray filled in and gave up multiple hurries in pass protection.

Browns LT Greg Robinson (concussion) has been ruled out for Week 13.
Robinson was downgraded from questionable after he didn’t clear the concussion protocol. Justin McCray will start in Robinson’s place against the Steelers.
  • FA Tackle #78
Browns LT Greg Robinson (concussion) is questionable for Sunday.
Justin McCray will start in place of Robinson if the Browns’ LT is ultimately unable to suit up. It likely wouldn’t be the worst thing to ever happen to the offense; Robinson is PFF’s No. 57 highest-graded tackle among 76 qualified players.

Browns LT Greg Robinson is in the league’s concussion protocol.
Robinson is Pro Football Focus’ No. 57 tackle out of 76 qualifiers. His struggles are well documented. If Robinson is unable to gain clearance in time to face the Steelers, veteran Justin McCray will get the start in his place.

ESPN’s Josina Anderson reports Browns LT Greg Robinson will resume his starting role in Week 9 against the Broncos.
The former second overall pick was benched for Justin McCray in Week 8, though that experiment failed miserably as McCray was a disaster against the Patriots, earning PFF’s worst tackle grade among Week 8 qualifiers. Poor offensive line play has certainly been a factor in Baker Mayfield’s sophomore slump. Only six quarterbacks have taken more sacks than Mayfield in 2019.

Browns LT Greg Robinson won’t start Week 8 against the Patriots.
Robinson has been benched coming off the bye week. This isn’t a surprise, but it leaves swingman Justin McCray on Baker Mayfield’s blindside. The Browns are expected to be active in trade talks for a left tackle ahead of Tuesday’s trade deadline.
  • FA Tackle #78
Browns LT Greg Robinson has either been benched or is “is in serious jeopardy of it”, according to Cleveland.com’s Mary Kay Cabot.
The Browns have been linked to trade talks involving Redskins LT Trent Williams, who would be an upgrade for Baker Mayfield’s blindside, but Robinson can still be benched without a trade with backup LT Kendall Lamm “possibly” being a replacement. Browns GM John Dorsey is looking for Robinson, who signed a one-year “prove-it” deal this offseason, to “be more consistent as a football player.” We’ll find out who is starting next week when the Browns come back from their Week 7 bye. PFF grades Robinson as the No. 19 tackle among 60 qualifiers.

NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reports Browns LT Greg Robinson is not expected to be suspended for the unsportsmanlike conduct penalty that led to his ejection in Sunday’s Week 1 loss to Tennessee.
Robinson was disqualified in the second quarter for kicking Titans safety Kenny Vaccaro. He could be subject to a fine, though it appears Robinson will avoid suspension, allowing him to return to his usual post at left tackle next Monday night against the Jets. Cleveland’s O line looked dreadful in the opener, letting the Titans get to Baker Mayfield for five sacks. That until will need to be better going forward or else it could be a long year in the Rock and Roll Capital.
