    Tigers release OF Jacob Robson.
Robson wound up appearing in four games last year for the Tigers, but was jettisoned from the team’s 40-man roster last offseason. The 27-year-old outfielder was hitting .192/.318/.338 with three homers and 13 steals across 179 plate appearances in 53 games this season for Triple-A Toledo.

Tigers optioned LHP Miguel Del Pozo and INF’s Zack Short and Kody Clemens to Triple-A Toledo; reassigned RHP Drew Carlton, INF Josh Lester and OF Jacob Robson to minor league camp.
The latest round of cuts from Tigers’ spring training leaves them with 46 players left in big-league camp. Del Pozo has struggled in a pair of Grapefruit League appearances and will now open the regular season in the minors. Short, Clemens and Lester represent organizational infield depth moving forward.

Tigers sent OF Jacob Robson outright to Triple-A Toledo.
He’s now off the Tigers’ 40-man roster. Robson was up briefly with the Tigers in 2021 but is still looking for his first major league hit.

Tigers optioned OF Jacob Robson to Triple-A Toledo.
Detroit needed to create roster space for newly acquired catcher Dustin Garneau and Robson was the odd man out. The 26-year-old was 0-for-7 at the major league level and carries a .316 average over 244 at-bats in the minors with seven home runs this season.

Tigers purchased the contract of OF Jacob Robson from Triple-A Toledo.
Robson could get some run in the Detroit outfield given all the injuries in that area -- and most areas -- of the depth chart. The 26-year-old had slashed .316/.434/.508 with seven home runs and 17 stolen bases in 69 games this summer between Double-A and Triple-A.

Tigers manager A.J. Hinch said late Wednesday that Niko Goodrum (groin) will require a trip to the 10-day injured list.
Hinch also added that the team plans to promote outfielder Jacob Robson from Triple-A Toledo as his replacement. Goodrum sustained a left groin strain while legging out a double on Wednesday evening against the Orioles.

Jacob Robson is in the concussion protocol after taking a line drive off of his head while sitting in the Tigers’ dugout during Saturday’s Grapefruit League contest against the Phillies.
The screaming line drive caught Robson on the side of his cheekbone. While an extremely scary situation, it appears at least initially that Robson was able to avoid serious injury. The 25-year-old outfielder spent the entire 2019 season at Triple-A Toledo where he slashed .267/.352/.399 with nine homers, 52 RBI and 25 stolen bases.

Tigers OF prospect Jacob Robson homered twice for Double-A Erie on Thursday.
Robson also drew a walk. An eighth-round pick of the 2016 draft, Robson doesn’t have elite power, but he can capitalize on mistakes, and he now has five over his first 46 games for the SeaWolves. His best tool is his plus-plus speed, and he could be a 30-plus steal player if he gets on enough to do so. He draws more than his fair share of walks, but he also can struggle to put the ball in play. He’s more than likely a fourth outfielder, but there might be just enough offensive upside for him to become an everyday outfielder.
