Eagles selected LSU S JaCoby Stevens with the No. 224 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Stevens (6'1/212) was a three-year starter at LSU who earned second-team All-SEC honors during the 2019 campaign. Stevens failed to repeat the feat in 2020, however, as the entire LSU defense took a step back. Given his size and propensity to be aligned down in the box, Stevens may serve as more of a linebacker at the next level. His tackling is phenomenal and many of his best coverage snaps come against tight ends and running backs. Stevens is also verifiably explosive, notching 90th-plus percentile marks in both the broad and vertical jumps. Perhaps Stevens could try to commit to a switch to linebacker after a few years at safety.
