The Pistons have waived Derrick Walton Jr., Jared Cunningham and Cassius Stanley.
None of these guys suited up for the Pistons during the preseason, but they will be eligible to sign a deal with Detroit’s G League affiliate.

  • NBA Shooting Guard #9
Jared Cunningham (right hamstring strain) will not play in Wednesday’s exhibition vs. San Antonio.
Cunningham was always a long-shot to make the regular-season roster in Detroit, and this hamstring injury should ensure that he’ll get cut.

  • NBA Shooting Guard #9
The Pistons have added SG Jared Cunningham to their training camp roster.
He’s not likely to make the team’s final roster, but at least he’s got a shot at doing so.

  • NBA Small Forward #28
The Warriors have officially waived forward Alfonzo McKinnie.
McKinnie went from the presumptive starter at small forward to released in the span of about a month, largely because of the injuries the team has had in the frontcourt. The rest of the league will have 48 hours to make a claim for McKinnie. The Warriors also released Jared Cunningham and Nick Zeisloft.
  • NBA Shooting Guard #9
Jared Cunningham will take part in a free agent workout with the Rockets this week.
Cunningham, now 28-years-old, was a first-round pick by the Mavericks in 2012, but hasn’t played in the NBA since 2016.
  • NBA Shooting Guard #9
The Mavericks drafted Oregon State SG Jared Cunningham with the 24th pick.
He’s the first OSU player to be taken in the first round since Corey Benjamin in 1998, and we don’t see him doing much in a crowded Dallas backcourt. He’s strong, could be a great defender, and will add to their depth, but don’t look for him to offer much fantasy value anytime soon.
  • NBA Shooting Guard #9
Jared Cunningham (hamstring) did light on-court drills on Wednesday.
Cunningham’s hamstring injury has prevented him from taking the court for the Mavs, but the team is likely just being cautious. We’re not concerned and there’s no reason to think it’s a serious ailment at this time.
  • NBA Shooting Guard #9
Mavs Rookie guard Jared Cunningham is dealing with a hamstring injury and could be very limited in Summer League.
This is not the way the Oregon State star wanted to kick off his NBA career, but we’re guessing he should at least be healthy for training camp, if he protects the injury this summer.
  • NBA Shooting Guard #9
The Mavericks have officially signed rookie guard Jared Cunningham.
Cunningham, the No. 24 overall pick this year, has been sidelined during Summer League due to a strained hamstring. In his final year at college he averaged 17.9 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 2.5 steals per game -- he’s worth watching, but shouldn’t be drafted in fantasy leagues.
  • NBA Shooting Guard #9
Jared Cunningham is over his hamstring injury.
Cunningham’s injury prevented him from playing in summer league, and while the rookie admitted “it did set me back a little,” he got the chance to rest his body and prepare for the upcoming season. Cunningham has been working out with O.J. Mayo, Darren Collison and other Mavericks in preparation for training camp. He’ll serve as a backup at both guard spots and has no physical limitations.
