    Converting from base, 4-3 end to 3-4 outside linebacker, Nading showed well in the preseason with nine tackles, a sack, and a forced fumble. With Mario Williams landing on injured reserve, Nading will be the Texans’ No. 4 outside ‘backer behind Connor Barwin, and rookies Brooks Reed and Bryan Braman.

    Only Nading spent time on the active roster in 2009, finishing with zero tackles in one appearance. Bing continues to struggle in his conversion from college safety to NFL outside linebacker. He’s been doing it for four years.

    Nading injured his knee nearly two months ago, and the Texans have been carrying him as a game-day inactive. He registered 10 tackles in five games this season. Nading will have to compete for a roster spot next year.
