Free agent offensive lineman Jordan Black has scheduled visits with Tampa Bay on Tuesday and Oakland on Wednesday.
It seems doubtful that Black will be viewed as a left tackle, though if there’s one place he could play the position, it’d probably be in Oakland. The Buccaneers may have lost interest after signing Luke Petitgout.
  • KC Quarterback
Texans released QB Quinn Gray and OL Jordan Black.
They must be glad they didn’t trade Sage Rosenfels now. Gray looked promising as a backup in Jacksonville, but didn’t show up to offseason workouts in great physical shape and struggled adjusting to coach Gary Kubiak’s system. The Raiders could make a strong push to sign him. Black served as Houston’s fourth tackle in 2007.
  • FA Tackle #60
T Jordan Black lined up with the first-team offense in Chiefs minicamp.
Willie Roaf is missing minis for personal reasons. Black should be Kansas City’s third tackle come training camp.
  • FA Tackle #60
Chiefs T Jordan Black will start in place of Kevin Sampson on Sunday.
Black was ineffective starting in for an injured Willie Roaf early last season. Expect Tony Gonzalez to stay at the line and help block the Bengals’ ends and Trent Green to struggle to stay upright.
  • FA Tackle #60
    Redskins signed OT Jordan Black.
A camp body for the Saints last season, Black never made it into a regular-season game after making nine starts for the Jaguars in 2010. He’s highly unlikely to crack the Redskins’ 53-man roster.
  • SF OFFENSIVE TACKLE (SUB) #71
Redskins LT Trent Williams was carted off with a knee injury during the first quarter of the Week 3 game against the Bengals, but later returned despite a limp.
Williams, the Redskins’ best offensive lineman, missed roughly three series. It looked like his right leg got bent the wrong way when blocking on an Alfred Morris run. Williams was replaced by Jordan Black, who was out of football last season.
  • FA Tackle #60
Redskins OT Jordan Black has been suspended four games for violating the league’s policy on performance-enhancing drugs.
A journeyman reserve, Black had appeared in all 14 games this season, but made zero starts. Black played heavy snaps in Sunday’s win over the Browns after RT Tyler Polumbus departed with a concussion. If the Redskins don’t make the playoffs, he’ll be eligible to return in Week 3 2013. One month shy of his 33rd birthday, Black is headed for free agency. This won’t help his market. Black went unsigned in 2011.
  • FA Tackle #60
Suspended free agent OT Jordan Black is eligible to participate in all offseason activities.
The journeyman has one game left on his four-game ban, but can participate in OTAs and camp if he nets a new deal. Black played just 108 snaps last season after going unsigned in 2011, so it’s far from a guarantee he’ll find a new home.
  • Texans will place tackle Charles Spencer on the PUP list, meaning he will miss the first six regular season games.
Head coach Gary Kubiak made the announcement about the Texans starting left tackle, saying “he’s got a ways to go.” A third-round pick last year, Spencer broke his leg last season and the Texans previously said that he was 50-50 at best for week one. Veteran Ephraim Salaam is the likely starter, but will get competition from Jordan Black.
  • Ephraim Salaam and Jordan Black will compete to be the Texans’ starting left tackle while Charles Spencer (leg) spends Weeks 1-6 on PUP.
Salaam, a journeyman, is frequently hurt and Black is mediocre at best. Matt Schaub could have worse blind-side protection than David Carr did in 2006.
