This pick commences the seventh round. The Colts are moving toward an NFC North-style physicality up front, and Anderson brings the requisite size, strength, and enough athleticism at 6'5" and 335 pounds. He’ll have to improve his technique to make an impact in Indianapolis.

A fifth-round rookie out of Alabama, Chapman almost certainly would have been a second-day selection if not for the fact that he was coming off a torn ACL. Rather than rush him back, the Colts will give Chapman another full month and a half to heal. He will be eligible to rejoin the roster after six games. A seventh-round pick out of Georgia, Anderson will likely be shuttled to the practice squad once he comes off the PUP list.

Anderson has experience at both tackle and guard as part of an outstanding offensive line at Georgia. At 6'5" and 335 pounds, he projects as a backup at both spots in Indianapolis.

The move comes just one day after activating the seventh-round rookie from the PUP list. The club may have avoided an injury settlement by waiting until Anderson was healthy to cut ties.

A 2012 seventh-round pick out of Georgia, Anderson failed to earn any playing time in two seasons with the Colts. He has a shot to be claimed on waivers.
