Patriots claimed WR Kerry Taylor off waivers from the Vikings.
Taylor went undrafted out of Arizona State two Aprils ago, didn’t make the cut in Packers camp, and spent this summer with the Vikings. He caught 54 balls for 699 yards and three TDs as a senior. Taylor might get quality playing time in New England’s preseason finale. It’ll be his practice squad audition.

Stephen Burton “appears to be the front-runner” for the Vikings’ fifth receiver spot.
Fourth-rounder Jarius Wright is likely locked in, and Michael Jenkins’ salary cut gives him a better chance to stick. Burton’s primary competition could be former CFL star Emmanuel Arcenaux, who has improved more than any player WRs coach George Stewart has coached in 25 years. Kerry Taylor and Bryan Walters are also in the mix. Burton could end up starting for the suspended Jerome Simpson in Week 1 if he makes the team.

Cardinals promoted WR Kerry Taylor from their practice squad.
Saturday signings are often made when teams anticipate injury situations affecting their Sunday rosters. Larry Fitzgerald is questionable with a hamstring injury, so it’s possible Taylor’s promotion is an indication the Cardinals are worried he’ll miss Sunday’s game against the Lions. Beat writer Darren Urban calls Taylor “Larry Fitzgerald insurance.” We hope to have a more definitive update by Sunday morning, but the Cardinals and Lions don’t play until 4:05PM ET, putting fantasy owners in a bind. Keep an eye out for updates.

Cardinals waived WR Kerry Taylor, OT Jamaal Johnson-Webb, LB Kenny Rowe, and DT Padric Scott.
The Cardinals are rolling with four receivers for the time being.
  • FA Wide Receiver
Jaguars WR Kerry Taylor caught eight balls for 75 yards and a touchdown in Jacksonville’s Week 17 loss to the Colts.
Taylor led the Jags in receiving in their meaningless season finale. The Arizona State alum has bounced around the NFL through three seasons, failing to find a home but showing solid hands and some special teams value. He lacks Dynasty league appeal at the moment, but Taylor likely earned a longer look from receiver-needy teams with this impressive end-of-year performance.
  • FA Wide Receiver
Operating as the No. 3 receiver in Jacksonville’s Week 12 win over the Texans, Kerry Taylor caught one pass for seven yards.
Taylor drew only four targets on an afternoon where the Jags went run heavy. With Mike Brown (shoulder) likely to return for Week 13, Taylor is well off the fantasy radar.
  • FA Wide Receiver
    Broncos released WR Kerry Taylor.
Taylor, 26, hasn’t appeared in a game since 2013. Getting waived at this stage of the offseason is a bad sign for his NFL future.
  • FA Wide Receiver
Jaguars tendered offers to exclusive rights free agents WR Mike Brown, WR Kerry Taylor, and G/T Austin Pasztor.
Brown and Taylor will each earn $495,000. Pasztor will bag $570,000. Brown appeared in 11 games last season, starting six in place of Justin Blackmon, and caught 32 passes for 446 yards and two scores. He’s merely a No. 4 receiver. Pasztor started 12 games at right tackle and was above average in pass pro.
  • FA Wide Receiver
    Jaguars waived WR Kerry Taylor.
A journeyman fourth-year undrafted free agent, Taylor had yet to be active this season.
  • FA Wide Receiver
    Jaguars released WR Kerry Taylor.
Taylor started four games for the Jaguars last season, catching 19 balls for 189 yards and a touchdown. Taylor’s release likely means preseason-star Allen Hurns has made Jacksonville’s final roster, not that there was any doubt.
