Seahawks interviewed Raiders running back coach Kirby Wilson for its offensive coordinator vacancy.
As expected. There hasn’t been any other league interest in Wilson, who last interviewed for a coordinator job in 2014. Wilson is obviously a candidate since he would inefficiently run Seattle’s backs into the ground on early downs. Ex-Jets coach Adam Gase, Chargers OC Shane Steichen, Chiefs QB coach Mike Kafka, and former Chargers coach Anthony Lynn have also been linked to Seattle.

  • The Seahawks are expected to interview Raiders running back coach Kirby Wilson for their offensive coordinator job.
The longtime RB coach is the latest candidate to replace Brian Schottenheimer. There hasn’t been any other league interest in Wilson, who last interviewed for a coordinator job in 2014. Wilson would be a run-focused hire for a Seattle team that wants to get back to running the ball. Chargers OC Shane Steichen, Chiefs QB coach Mike Kafka, and fired coaches Anthony Lynn and Adam Gase have also been linked to Seattle.

  • Vikings RBs coach Kirby Wilson is expected to interview for the Browns’ running-game coordinator job on Tuesday.
Wilson’s contract with the Vikings expires on Tuesday, so he’ll technically be a coaching free agent. The 54-year-old interviewed for the Jaguars’ OC job last year and has been a RBs coach in the NFL since 1997. New Browns coach Hue Jackson isn’t expected to hire an OC and will call his own plays.
  • Browns hired Kirby Wilson as running-game coordinator.
He was previously the Vikings’ running backs coach. Wilson will have his work cut out for him in Cleveland. Only the Chargers scored fewer rushing touchdowns than the Browns in 2015.
  • The Jaguars will interview Vikings RBs coach Kirby Wilson for their offensive-coordinator vacancy on Thursday.
Wilson, 53, coached the Steelers’ running backs for seven seasons before taking a job on coach Mike Zimmer’s staff under OC Norv Turner this past season. He’s interviewed for OC vacancies in the past. Wilson’s name doesn’t jump off the page, but he’s a legit candidate. He’s worked under the likes of Bruce Arians, Todd Haley, and Turner, and would likely bring an aggressive scheme.
  • Browns fired run-game coordinator and RBs coach Kirby Wilson.
The longtime NFL RBs coach, Wilson takes the fall for the Browns’ struggles, even though his running backs were the best parts of the Browns’ offense, with Duke Johnson having a career year in 2017 and Isaiah Crowell having his best two rushing seasons under Wilson the past two years. Wilson should quickly resurface as an RBs coach while the Browns continue their OC search.
