Kyle Lloyd was optioned to Triple-A El Paso in the corresponding move. McGrath has posted a 2.66 ERA over 20 relief outings in the minors this year and should work as a middle reliever/lefty specialist in San Diego. This will be the 24-year-old’s first stint in the majors.
