A seventh-round pick by the Lions in 2008, Cohen resurfaces for a week or two each season as a fringe roster player. He’s recorded just four tackles in three games over the past two years.

Cohen has bounced around with the Pats, Seahawks, Jaguars, and Lions since being Detroit’s seventh-round pick in 2008. He’ll battle for a roster spot.

The move was made to clear space on the roster for Anthony Hargrove. A three-year veteran, Cohen was claimed off waivers from the Patriots last Sunday. In 24 career games, he’s notched 30 tackles and zero sacks.

The addition of Adams may bode poorly for RCB Ras-I Dowling’s chances of playing against Buffalo after he left last week’s loss with an apparent leg injury. If Dowling is out, Leigh Bodden would start at right corner with Kyle Arrington probably covering the slot. Adams would take Arrington’s place on special teams. Cohen replaces Myron Pryor on the roster.

Cohen was just brought back last week to play a reserve role against the Bills. Since originally signing with the Pats last December, he posted four tackles in two games.

Cohen will provide defensive line depth with Henry Melton (torn ACL) on injured reserve. A seventh-round pick by the Lions in 2008, he’s appeared in three games over the past two seasons.

Tuinei was signed two days ago. Cohen will provide needed D-Line depth.

With Marcell Dareus out of shape and the defensive tackle spot already thin, the Bills need a camp body. Cohen has had stints with the Lions, Jags, Patriots, Bears and Cowboys since breaking into the league in 2008.

“I love ‘em, just because I get to eat more,” said DT Landon Cohen. New coach Jim Schwartz actually cares about stopping the run, although he’s going to have a hard time doing it with Rod Marinelli’s undersized holdovers.

Cohen appears to have jumped ahead of Chuck Darby and Andre Fluellen, with Fluellen getting the reps in nickel situations. Cohen gained 20 pounds in the offseason to better fit Jim Schwartz’s run-stopping defensive plan.
