Raiders failed to tender CB Phillip Adams, making him an unrestricted free agent.

Raiders brass at one point was high on Adams’ potential, but he finished 2012 on injured reserve after multiple concussions and a groin injury. Perhaps the club will try to re-sign Adams for less than the low tender ($1.323 million).

Seahawks agreed to terms with CB Phillip Adams, formerly of the Raiders, to a one-year contract.

A career backup, Adams was one of the worst corners in the league last season, getting routinely toasted across 348 snaps. He made one appearance with Seattle in 2011. Adams will fight for one of the final spots on the 53-man roster.

Raiders claimed CB Phillip Adams off waivers from the Seahawks.

A seventh-round pick of the 49ers in 2010, Adams appeared in seven games between the Seahawks and Patriots last season. He’ll attempt to stick as a special teamer in Oakland.

Raiders CB/PR Phillip Adams sustained a concussion in Week 13 versus the Browns.

Raiders CB Phillip Adams has suffered two concussions in the past three games.

He should be considered out indefinitely. Raiders management had high hopes for Adams when they claimed him off waivers from Seattle in early September, and he wound up overtaking Ronald Bartell at right cornerback. Oakland won’t be able to continue to rely on Adams due to his proneness to concussions.

Raiders CB Phillip Adams was forced from Sunday’s game with a head injury.

Adams was sent to the locker room for testing after a hard collision. He was just concussed two weeks ago, so the Raiders are sure to exercise caution.

Running Back
Taiwan Jones is in line for kickoff return duties with Jacoby Ford’s (foot) status in doubt this week.

CB Phillip Adams, recently claimed off waivers from Seattle, is expected to be the punt returner at Arizona. As Darren McFadden’s change-of-pace back, Jones could be a fantasy option in return-yardage leagues for Week 1.

Raiders placed CB Phillip Adams (concussions, groin) on injured reserve, ending his season.

They also signed DE Brandon Bair and S Corey Nelms off the practice squad. Adams, 24, was seen inside the Oakland organization as a player with a lot of long-term potential. He figures to be tendered in 2013 restricted free agency.

Raiders CB Phillip Adams suffered a groin injury in Sunday’s loss to the Panthers.

Adams had been starting since Ronald Bartell was released, but suffered two concussions in the past three games and is now at risk of being shut down with another injury. He barely made an impact this year, and finished with just 14 tackles and two interceptions. A seventh-round pick of the 49ers in 2010, Adams will enter restricted free agency this offseason.

Raiders re-signed CB Phillip Adams to a one-year, $630,000 contract.

Oakland declined to tender Adams as an RFA earlier in the day. That would have paid him $1.323 million, so they save a little more than half that by re-upping him. Adams was arguably the Raiders’ best corner in 2012, which isn’t saying much. He could have a chance to start this season.
