Panthers practice squad LB Lawrence Wilson was arrested Wednesday with 11 grams of marijuana after getting pulled over for speeding.

According to the police report, Wilson began to cry and ask what it would do to his career. He was cited for misdemeanor possession of marijuana and speeding.

NFL suspended Saints LB Lawrence Wilson one game and fined him an additional game check for violating the league’s substance abuse policy.

The discipline isn’t related to the Bounty Scandal. Wilson, signed this offseason to a minimum salary contract, will battle for a roster spot in training camp. The fact that Wilson won’t be available for Week 1 won’t help his chances.
