NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports free agent S Marcus Gilchrist is visiting the Raiders on Thursday.
Despite coming off a serious knee injury, Gilchrist was solid as a 13-game starter for the Texans last season. Oakland needs some help at safety with Reggie Nelson a free agent.

Raiders signed S Marcus Gilchrist to a one-year contract.
Gilchrist was a sub-replacement starter for the Texans last year and Jets for the two previous seasons. The 50th overall pick in the 2011 draft out of Clemson, Gilchrist should push inconsistent Karl Joseph to start at free safety.

    Lions released S Marcus Gilchrist.
Gilchrist hasn’t played a snap in 2019 -- he was signed after the Quandre Diggs trade but was quickly released -- and has been graded as a below-average defender for three-straight seasons. The veteran will look to stick onto an active roster as a depth option.

    Lions sign S Marcus Gilchrist.
Gilchrist provides depth to the Lions’ secondary after the front office curiously decided to trade starting safety Quandre Diggs to the Seahawks. It’d be surprising if Gilchrist immediately steps into the starting lineup for the team’s Week 8 matchup against the Giants.

Free agent Marcus Gilchrist worked out for the Texans.
They also visited with Mike Adams, Jonathan Owens, Jordan Richards and OL Ulrick John. This is due diligence from the Texans with Justin Reid and Tashaun Gipson playing through injuries, but Gilchrist should eventually resurface.

Free agent S Marcus Gilchrist is visiting the Colts Tuesday.
Gilchrist was a 16-game starter for the Raiders last season, leading the team with three interceptions over 790 defensive snaps. He also worked out with the Bucs in early August. Malik Hooker’s (knee) 4-6 week absence has obviously pushed Indy into the safety market with only rookie Khari Willis, Clayton Geathers, George Odum, and Rolan Milligan available while Hooker’s out.

Free agent S Marcus Gilchrist is visiting the Buccaneers Monday.
The Bucs are looking for a lifeline to spell their injury-depleted secondary. Gilchrist was a 16-game starter for the Raiders last year, totaling 58 tackles and a team-high three interceptions over 790 defensive snaps. If he signs with Tampa Bay, it would be his fourth team in as many seasons.
  • FA Defensive Back #23
Chargers CB Quentin Jammer left Sunday’s game with a hamstring injury and will not return.
Jammer went down in the first half and was replaced by Marcus Gilchrist. The fact that Jammer was ruled out so quickly hints at a Grade 2 tear at least.

In his Week 8 start, Chargers rookie CB Marcus Gilchrist allowed 8-of-11 pass targets against him to be complete for 138 yards and a touchdown.
Gilchrist was victimized primarily by fellow rookie Jonathan Baldwin and Steve Breaston. The Chargers still plan to start Gilchrist over Antoine Cason against the Packers. If San Diego continues its coverage strategy of the past two weeks, Quentin Jammer will follow Greg Jennings all over the field. Gilchrist would match up with Jordy Nelson and James Jones.

The Chargers were forced to bench rookie CB Marcus Gilchrist after Jordy Nelson burned him relentlessly in Week 9.
Gilchrist was also torched in Week 8 by Jonathan Baldwin and Steve Breaston. “Obviously, Marcus was having a tough game,” Turner said. “We decided to put (Antoine) Cason in.” Gilchrist’s confidence may be shot. He looked quite promising early in the season, but has now had back-to-back very bad games.
