    Bills TE Mike Caussin tore his right ACL in Week 16.
    He’ll be placed on injured reserve. Caussin, a second-year undrafted free agent out of D-IAA James Madison, finished with five catches for 41 yards in six appearances. He won’t be on the 53-man roster to open next season.

    Scott Chandler came off the bench behind Mike Caussin in the Bills’ Week 16 win over the Broncos.
    The Bills apparently weren’t comfortable enough with Chandler’s ankle to give him a full complement of snaps. He ended up with just two targets. Caussin sustained a knee injury Saturday, so Chandler figures to have a full workload in the season finale.

    Caussin started the game ahead of Scott Chandler (ankle) and had one catch for six yards before leaving. Coach Chan Gailey hinted at the possibility of a serious injury.

    The Bills signed Caussin off the Jags’ practice squad last season, but he never dressed on a Sunday. If active this time around, he’ll fill in on special teams and provide insurance behind Scott Chandler.

    He’ll be eligible to return after six regular season games. “We think it’ll be a big plus in six to nine weeks if we need an H-back or another tight end,” said GM Buddy Nix, “then we’ve got one right there. That part will be a plus.”

    Caussin tore his ACL in Week 16 of last season. The Bills will have a 21-day window to decide whether to activate him off the PUP list. Caussin had five catches in six games as a rookie in 2011.

    Caussin missed the entire 2012 season as he recovered from a torn ACL. Assuming he makes the roster, Cuassin will provide special teams help and insurance at tight end with Scott Chandler now dealing with an ACL tear of his own.
