Adam Carr fanned five in two scoreless innings Saturday for the Javelinas of the Arizona Fall League.
He walked none, which is a nice change. In 60 2/3 innings between high-A and Double-A this year, Carr gave up 37 hits, walked 47 and struck out 78. He has the stuff to become a closer someday, but the command might never be there to make that a possibility. There’s still a good chance he’ll make his major league debut at some point during 2008.

Adam Carr pitched 1 2/3 scoreless innings Friday for Harrisburg in his Double-A debut.
Carr was promoted despite posting a 6.15 ERA for Single-A Potomac. He has a closer-type arm, but he’s still learning how to pitch and he doesn’t have much command yet. He’s struck out 32 and walked 16 in 28 innings this season.

Nationals reassigned RHP Adam Carr, RHP Josh Wilkie and RHP Garrett Mock to minor league camp.
Carr was hoping to land one of the final spots in the Nationals’ Opening Day bullpen, but he’ll begin the year in the minors and then work his way up. The 26-year-old posted a 2.75 ERA between Double-A and Triple-A last season. J.D. Martin has also been sent to minors camp.

Bidding for a spot in the Nationals’ bullpen, Adam Carr has hurled two shutout innings this spring.
After struggling in the minors, Carr improved his location of his fastball and slowed down his delivery. The adjustments helped him generate a surprising 6-2 record and 2.75 ERA for Double-A Harrisburg and Triple-A Syracuse last season. Regardless of whether he breaks camp with the team, Carr once again is a legitimate major league prospect.
