Brandon Sproat gave up four runs in 3 2/3 innings after taking over from Logan Henderson in the second game of Saturday’s doubleheader against the Royals.
Sproat pitched scoreless third, fourth and fifth innings. In the sixth, he gave up a one-out homer to Salvador Perez and then struck out Jac Caglianone. At that point, he gave up three straight singles to plate one run, and he was pulled in favor of Jared Koenig, who allowed both inherited runners to score. It seems like a better outing than his ERA suggests, but he might not be long for the rotation at this point. The Brewers have Thursday off, so it’s unclear if Sproat will get a chance next weekend.

Logan Henderson will start the second game of the doubleheader against the Royals on Saturday.
Henderson will be called up as the 27th player and get the start in the second game of the twin-billing. Brandon Sproat will follow the right-hander, so it’s likely Henderson will only get a time through the lineup at most. There’s long-term upside in the 24-year-old’s profile, but there are probably better options on Saturday’s slate.

Logan Henderson could be called up for the second game of Saturday’s doubleheader against the Royals, according to Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
There’s no official 27th man for Saturday’s doubleheader against the Royals, but it sounds like Henderson could be officially called up prior to the nightcap to provide additional length behind starter Brandon Sproat. The 24-year-old struck out five over three innings during his lone appearance for Triple-A Nashville this season.

Brandon Sproat was demolished in his Brewers’ debut on Sunday, surrendering seven runs on six hits over three innings of work.
The 25-year-old right-hander also issued four free passes on the afternoon while striking out three. He struggled to keep the ball in the yard in this one, as Colson Montgomery blasted a grand slam in the opening inning, Munetaka Murakami added a solo shot in the second and Everson Pereira did the same in the third inning. Sproat got nine whiffs on 86 pitches on the day, posting an underwhelming CSW of 22 percent. He’ll try to put this one behind him and get back on track when he battles the Royals his next time out in Kansas City on Saturday.

Brandon Sproat tossed four scoreless innings on Tuesday against the Reds.
Sproat let it eat in his final appearance of the spring, averaging a crisp 96.3 mph on his sinker, while generating nine swinging strikes and allowing just four baserunners over five frames. The 25-year-old has taken advantage of his opportunity with the Brewers and will break camp in their starting rotation. He’ll kick off the regular season with an extremely tasty home matchup against the rebuilding White Sox on Sunday afternoon, making him a worthwhile streaming option for fantasy purposes, even in shallow mixed leagues.

Brandon Sproat has made the season-opening roster, according to Brewers manager Pat Murphy.
No surprise here after Logan Henderson was shipped back to Triple-A earlier this week. Sproat will open the season pitching at the back-end of Milwaukee’s rotation after being acquired from the Mets in an offseason trade. The 25-year-old pitching prospect offers enough strikeout upside to make an impact in deeper fantasy leagues.

Brandon Sproat gave up two runs over three innings on Wednesday against the Cubs.
Sproat is likely ticketed for Triple-A Nashville to open the year with Chad Patrick, Kyle Harrison and Logan Henderson ahead of him in Milwaukee’s pecking order. However, he’s likely to make his Brewers debut at some point given the attrition rate for starters and offers enough strikeout upside to matter in deeper mixed leagues.

Brandon Sproat had mixed results in his Cactus League debut against the White Sox on Friday, giving up one run on three hits in 1 1/3 innings.
The 25-year-old right-hander recorded three of his four outs via the strikeout while also issuing one walk in the ballgame. Sproat allowed an RBI single to Edgar Quero in the opening inning but was able to escape further damage by picking him off of first base. He then issued a walk and a single after striking out Jarred Kelenic to start the second but the Brewers’ bullpen stepped up and stranded both inherited runners. Sproat got six whiffs on 35 pitches in the game, registering an elite CSW of 43 percent. He’s fighting against a very crowded rotation mix to start the season, but if Sproat earns an opportunity his ability to miss bats makes him very interesting for fantasy purposes.

Brewers acquired RHP Brandon Sproat and INF/OF Jett Williams from the Mets for RHP Freddy Peralta and RHP Tobias Myers.
Sproat, 25, debuted for the Mets late last season and finished with a 4.79 ERA in four starts. He had a 4.24 ERA and a 113/53 K/BB in 121 innings for Triple-A Syracuse. A 6-foot-3 right-hander with a 94-98 mph fastball, he projects as something like a No. 4 starter with his plus slider and above average groundball rate. Minus Peralta, the Brewers currently would seem to have two rotation openings, with Logan Henderson and Chad Patrick probably the favorites based on 2025 results. However, Sproat should also be in the mix with Robert Gasser, and Aaron Ashby and Angel Zerpa are candidates to slide over the pen.

The Mets are acquiring Freddy Peralta from the Brewers for Brandon Sproat and Jett Williams, sources told ESPN’s Jeff Passan.
The Mets will also get Tobias Myers, The Athletic’s Will Sammon confirms. Coming off his fifth place finish in the NL Cy Young balloting, Peralta will join Nolan McLean, David Peterson, Clay Holmes and likely either Kodai Senga or Sean Manaea in the Mets rotation. Sproat could be a candidate to go right into Milwaukee’s rotation, though it seems more likely that he’ll open up in Triple-A. Williams is probably a year away, but he could be a starting shortstop or center fielder for the Brewers in 2027. The Mets will have Peralta for $8 million this year before he becomes eligible for free agency next winter.
