Diamondbacks recalled LHP Brandyn Garcia from Triple-A Reno.
He’ll take the place of Taylor Rashi in the Diamondbacks’ bullpen. The 25-year-old southpaw has made four appearances in the big leagues this season, registering a 10.80 ERA, 3.60 WHIP and a 1/4 K/BB ratio across 3 1/3 innings between the Mariners and D’Backs. He’ll give manager Torey Lovullo another option in the middle innings.

Diamondbacks optioned LHP Brandyn Garcia to Triple-A Reno.
Garcia gets the boot from the active roster with both Kyle Nelson and Jalen Beeks (back) in the fold for the Diamondbacks. Garcia has some long-term upside, but can be safely avoided in fantasy leagues for the foreseeable future.

Diamondbacks recalled LHP Brandyn Garcia from Triple-A Reno.
Garcia joins Arizona’s relief mix a couple days after being acquired from the Mariners in the Josh Naylor trade. The hard-throwing 25-year-old southpaw made his big-league debut earlier this month with Seattle after posting a 28 percent strikeout rate this season in the upper minors. He could factor into the Diamondbacks’ high-leverage mix at some point in the future, but he’ll likely operate in middle relief for now.

Diamondbacks acquired LHP Brandyn Garcia and RHP Ashton Izzi from the Mariners for 1B Josh Naylor.
The 25-year-old southpaw recently spent a few days with the Mariners where he posted a 4.50 ERA, 3.50 WHIP and 1/3 K/BB ratio over two innings. It’s possible that he could jump right into the Diamondbacks’ bullpen, though they may want to give him some time at Triple-A Reno first before thrusting him into that role.

Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports that the Mariners have reached an agreement to acquire first baseman Josh Naylor from the Diamondbacks.
Jeff Passan of ESPN adds that the Diamondbacks will receive left-hander Brandyn Garcia and minor league right-hander Ashton Izzi in return for the 28-year-old slugger. There had been rumblings that the Mariners were discussing Eugenio Suarez with the Diamondbacks and it’s unclear if those discussions are still ongoing now that they’ve upgrade their offense with Naylor. Expect the D’Backs to continue to be aggressive in moving pending free agents like Suarez and Merrill Kelly as the trade deadline approaches.
  • SEA Relief Pitcher #43
Mariners optioned LHP Brandyn Garcia to Triple-A Tacoma.
Garcia made two appearances with Seattle in the series against Milwaukee and struggled to throw strikes while allowing a pair of runs in his pair of innings. He could be back before the end of the summer, but Jackson Kowar is heading up to take Garcia’s place in the meantime.

Mariners selected the contract of LHP Brandyn Garcia from Triple-A Tacoma.
Garcia, 25, will be making his major league debut. The Mariners’ 11th-round pick in 2023, he’s a sinker-slider reliever who averages 97 mph with his fastball. He had a 3.51 ERA and a 42/17 K/BB in 33 1/3 innings of relief work for Tacoma.
