Brewers optioned RHP Carlos Rodriguez to Triple-A Nashville; reassigned INF/OF Jett Williams, 3B Brock Wilken, OF Luis Lara and RHP Jacob Waguespack to minor league camp.

Rodriguez made four relief appearances for the Brewers last season and figures to occupy a swingman-type role once he gets back to the big leagues. Williams was the big prize for Milwaukee in the Freddy Peralta trade back in the offseason and offers enough power/speed combo upside to make an impact in fantasy leagues once he reaches the majors. He isn’t too far away.

Brock Wilken

MIL 3rd Baseman #72

Brock Wilken, out since June 18 with a dislocated left kneecap, was activated from the injured list by Double-A Biloxi.

Wilken, 23, was batting .230/.392/.550 with 18 homers in 65 games before getting hurt. In spite of his issues hitting for average, he could be a candidate to see time at third base for the Brewers next season.
