Edgar Quero went 2-for-3 with a double and drove in both of the White Sox’ runs in a losing effort against the Brewers on Friday.

The 22-year-old backstop opened the scoring in the ballgame with an RBI single off of Brandon Sproat in the top half of the first inning. He then added a run-scoring double off of Abner Uribe in the third inning that made it 2-0. Unfortunately, that would be the extent of their offense in the game. Quero is off to a blistering start this spring, hitting .538 (7-for-13) with a whopping eight RBI.

CWS Starting Pitcher #59

Sean Burke wasn’t at his best in Friday’s Cactus League start against the Brewers, allowing two runs on three hits over his three innings of work.

Burke racked up two strikeouts on the afternoon while issuing one base on balls. He retired the Brewers in order in each of the first two innings, but things fell apart for him in the third. There, he served up a leadoff homer to Luis Rengifo then issued a walk and two straight singles to push across another one. Burke then rallied to escape further damage, getting Brice Turang to fly into a double play. He got four whiffs on 40 pitches on the day, posting a strong CSW of 38 percent. Burke’s velocity on his fastball was down slightly in this one (-0.3 mph), but there’s no reason to be concerned.

CWS 1st Baseman #35

LaMonte Wade Jr. blasted a two-run homer on Friday, powering the White Sox to a 3-1 victory over the Rangers in Cactus League action.

The 32-year-old victimized Rangers’ right-hander Alexis Diaz in the fourth inning of this one, crushing a full-count slider for a 399-foot (106.7 mph EV) two-run shot that put the White Sox ahead to stay. That would be his only hit in three at-bats on the day. He’s hitting just .182 (2-for-11) to start the spring, so he’ll need more moments like this if he’s going to secure a spot on the club’s Opening Day roster.

Austin Hays went 1-for-3 with a triple and a run scored as the Rangers triumphed over the White Sox on Friday afternoon.

Hays usually does his damage against left-handed pitching, but he roped a one-out triple off of Alexis Diaz in the fourth inning of this one and trotted home on LaMonte Wade Jr’s two-run blast. He’ll see the bulk of his starts against southpaws in 2026, making him more of a streaming option for fantasy purposes than an every week starter.
Erick Fedde

CWS Starting Pitcher #59

Erick Fedde was terrific in his Cactus League debut on Friday, allowing just one walk over two scoreless frames against the Rangers.

Fedde looked quite comfortable being back in a White Sox uniform. He threw 19 of his 29 pitches for strikes in the contest, generating three whiffs and posting a strong CSW of 34 percent. The velocity on his sinker was up a bit from his 2025 mark, averaging 93.7 mph (+0.5 mph). He wound up being a useful option for fantasy purposes the last time that we saw him on the south side, so he makes for an intriguing late-round flier entering the 2026 campaign.
Andrew Benintendi

Andrew Benintendi was scratched from Friday’s game against the Rangers with right side soreness.

No word on the severity of the injury, but it’s still early in spring training, so there is no need to rush a veteran like Benintendi onto the field.
Sean Newcomb

CWS Pitcher

Sean Newcomb gave up two runs and four hits in two innings against the Dodgers on Thursday.

He struck out two and walked one. Newcomb is hoping to join the White Sox rotation after a successful 2025 spent mostly in the pen, but he should have a roster spot either way after signing for $4.5 million in December.
Tanner Murray

CWS 3rd Baseman #84

Tanner Murray hit his second homer of the spring Thursday in a loss to the Dodgers.

Murray was a fringy 40-man roster guy after hitting .241/.299/.400 in Triple-A last season, but the White Sox liked him enough to acquire him from the Rays and protect him from the Rule 5 draft, and now he’s opened this spring with two homers and a double in nine at-bats. The White Sox have several out-of-options bench candidates, so Murray has little shot of winning a spot out of spring training. His opportunity could come this summer if other players disappoint.
Colson Montgomery

Colson Montgomery belted his first home run of the spring on Wednesday against the Reds.

Montgomery’s first big fly of the spring came off Cincinnati reliever Lyon Richardson in the fourth inning. The 23-year-old former top prospect turned his career around last year, walloping 21 round-trippers in 71 games as a rookie. He offers zero stolen base potential and a near-30 percent strikeout rate suggests he won’t be much help in the batting average department either. There’s some real thunder in his bat but his fantasy value is limited to deeper mixed leagues as a cheap power source.
Luisangel Acuña

CWS 2nd Baseman #10

Luisangel Acuña was removed from Wednesday’s game against the Reds with a facial laceration.

Acuña suffered a cut above his left eyebrow and will undergo further evaluation to determine whether he’ll require stitches. He was 2-for-2 with a pair of singles and his first steal of the spring before departing. The 23-year-old infielder, who came over from the Mets in the Luis Robert Jr. trade last month, is presumably day-to-day for the moment. He’s competing for a spot on Chicago’s bench this spring.
