Angels purchased the contract of outfielder Chris Prieto from Triple-A Salt Lake.

It’s nice to see the 32-year-old Prieto get a cup of coffee after 13 seasons in the minors, but he shouldn’t play all. The Angels are having a tough enough time finding at-bats for Jeff DaVanon and Juan Rivera now that Adam Kennedy is back.

Yankees signed outfielder Chris Prieto to a minor league contract and invited him to spring training.

Prieto made his major league debut with the Angels at age 32 last season. He’s 33 now, and he shouldn’t be much of a contender for a bench spot, even if he did hit .317/.418/.457 for Triple-A Salt Lake.
