White Sox signed RHP Chris Rodriguez to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
Rodriguez represents an intriguing low-risk gamble for the rebuilding White Sox as a relief project. The hard-throwing 26-year-old righty spent last year in Arizona’s minor-league system, making 36 relief appearances in the upper minors. He’s struggled to stay healthy since breaking into the majors with the Angels back in 2021 when he looked like an impact reliever.

The Diamondbacks reassigned OF Kristian Robinson along with RHPs Luke Albright, Dakota Chalmers, Francisco Morales, Chris Rodriguez, Tristin English and LHP Brandon Hughes to minor league camp.
Robinson will start out the regular season within the D-backs minor league organization where he spent most of his time last season at Single-A Visalia. Robinson missed the first three seasons of his career due to legal issues and was once considered a top prospect for Arizona. At 23 years old, he’ll look to continue to develop his power at the plate and potentially become a 20 HR, 20 stolen base type of player.

Diamondbacks sent RHP Chris Rodriguez outright to Triple-A Reno.
The D’Backs claimed the 25-year-old hurler off of waivers from the Angels back in October. Rodriguez hasn’t pitched in the big leagues since the 2021 season due to continued issues with his surgically-repaired right shoulder. If he’s able to get himself right though, he could wind up being a valuable addition to the club’s bullpen.

Diamondbacks claimed RHP Chris Rodriguez off waivers from the Angels.
Rodriguez hasn’t pitched in the majors since the 2021 campaign due to ongoing issues in his surgically-repaired right shoulder. The hard-throwing 25-year-old righty represents a worthwhile lottery ticket for the Diamondbacks as he possesses the raw stuff required to contribute in the majors, if he can manages to stay healthy.
  • LAA Starting Pitcher #73
Chris Rodriguez has been shut down from throwing once again after experiencing renewed soreness in his surgically repaired right shoulder.
Ugh. The 25-year-old hurler has missed the entire season-to-date due to shoulder issues, and it sounds like he’s still experiencing major problems. He was finally cleared to start pitching in minor league games in early September, but that didn’t last long before he was shut down once more. At this stage, there’s no clear timeline for when — or if — he’ll be able to return to the mound.

Angels transfered RHP Chris Rodriguez from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day injured list.
The procedural move opens up a spot on the Angels’ 40-man roster for top prospect Zach Neto to get the call to the majors. Rodriguez was shut down from throwing earlier this month after experiencing renewed soreness in his surgically-repaired right shoulder. There is no timetable for his return.

Ugh. Rodriguez had been working his way back from surgery to repair a torn capsule in his right shoulder. He was throwing to live hitters but will slow down to just throwing bullpen sessions. There is no timetable for his return.
