CJ Abrams went 1-for-5 with a two-run double on Sunday, helping to lead the Nationals to a victory over the Reds in Cincinnati.
Abrams delivered a two-out, two-run double off of Taylor Rogers in the seventh inning that transformed a 2-1 lead into a 4-1 advantage. That would be his only hit in four trips to the plate in the ballgame. For the season, the dynamic 24-year-old shortstop is now slashing .284/.333/.523 to go along with four homers, 13 RBI and six stolen bases.

CJ Abrams finished 4-for-5 with a triple and a double against the Phillies on Tuesday.
Abrams 17/3 K/BB in 73 plate appearances isn’t what anyone is looking for from a leadoff man, but he’s batting .279 and slugging .559 to date. He has a 43% hard-hit rate, and he collected his seventh barrel on the triple tonight.

CJ Abrams went 1-for-5 with a game-tying single in a win over the Mets on Sunday.
Abrams struck out three times and did not have a great game overall, but he laced a game-tying single off of Ryne Stanek in the bottom of the ninth inning and then came around to score on a throwing error by Pete Alonso later in the inning. Abrams has gotten off to a slow start to the season while battling a hip injury, but he should right the ship here soon.

CJ Abrams went 2-for-5 with a triple, a RBI, stolen base, and scored the winning run in a dramatic 5-4 win over the Mets on Friday.
Abrams made his presence known fresh off his return from a hip injury. He hit a run-scoring triple early that was just a few feet shy of clearing the fence and then came around to score the walk-off run on a ground ball by James Wood that barely left the infield. Abrams was running on the pitch, but he genuinely flew around the bases and barely beat the tag at home plate. He runs like a gazelle when he gets going and few players in the league are more dynamic than Abrams when he’s playing well.

Nationals activated INF CJ Abrams off the 10-day injured list.
Abrams ended up missing a little under two weeks while recovering from the flexor strain. The 24-year-old should return to hitting at the top of the Washington order now that he’s back in action. His power/speed combo remains enticing, even if there are flaws that will frustrate fantasy managers during the 2025 campaign and likely beyond.

CJ Abrams (hip) went 0-for-3 on Wednesday in a minor league rehab game for Double-A Harrisburg.
Abrams is heading back to Washington to be re-evaluated after getting into a pair of rehab contests. The 24-year-old speedster might be ready to return later this week, but that’s not official yet.

CJ Abrams (hip) will begin a rehab assignment Tuesday with Double-A Harrisburg.
Abrams has been sidelined for a little over a week with a right hip flexor strain and was cleared to begin baseball activities this past weekend. He might spend most of this week getting his rhythm and timing back and could return to the Nationals’ lineup next week.

CJ Abrams (hip) has resumed swinging a bat and fielding grounders.
Nationals manager Dave Martinez told reporters Saturday that Abrams still has some boxes to check from a lateral movement standpoint before he’s ready to return from the injured list. The 24-year-old shortstop is working his way back from a right hip flexor strain, but figures to be ready to return by the end of April or early May.

Nationals placed INF CJ Abrams on the 10-day injured list with a right hip flexor strain.
Abrams left Friday’s game against the Marlins in the fourth inning with the hip injury, and the 24-year-old will need to be on the shelf for at least a week-plus. Nasim Nuñez has been recalled from Triple-A Rochester to take his place on the roster. There should be more clarity on Abrams’ prognosis shortly, but it’s likely that the speedy infielder will miss more than the minimum stint on the IL.

CJ Abrams was removed from Friday night’s battle against the Marlins in the fourth inning due to an apparent injury.
Abrams missed a pair of games earlier in the week due to tightness in his thigh, so the chances are that this is probably related. Amed Rosario took his place in the lineup with Paul Dejong shuffling over to cover shortstop. Expect the Nationals to provide an update on Abrams’ status after the game.
