Diamondbacks 2B prospect Demetrio Crisantes will undergo season-ending surgery to repair a labral tear in his left shoulder.
Crisantes is expected to be ready for the start of spring training. The 20-year-old infielder was a seventh-round pick in the 2024 MLB Draft and evolved into one of Arizona’s top prospects last year when he posted a .921 OPS with seven homers and 30 steals across two levels in the lower minors. His season comes to an end after just 34 games at High-A Hillsboro where he hit .252/.358/.415 with four homers and six steals in 151 plate appearances.
