Mets selected the contract of RHP Dylan Ross from Triple-A Syracuse.

Ross earns his first call up to the big leagues with New York attempting to make it back to the postseason on the final weekend of the regular season. The 25-year-old’s signature splitter helped generate a sublime 35.7 percent strikeout rate across three minor-league levels this season along with a 2.17 ERA and 80/33 K/BB ratio across 54 innings. He’s an interesting name to watch as a potential high-leverage arm down the road. He’s eligible for New York’s playoff roster, should they get past the Reds and lock up the final NL Wild Card playoff spot.

Will Sammon of The Athletic reports that the Mets plan to promote right-hander Dylan Ross from Triple-A Syracuse on Saturday.

It’ll be the first trip to the big leagues for the 25-year-old right-hander and he’ll be thrown right into the fire as the Mets are tied with the Reds for the final Wild Card spot in the National League with just two games left to play. Ross registered a 2.17 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and an 80/33 K/BB ratio over 54 innings across three minor league levels this season.
