Guardians activated LHP Erik Sabrowski from the 15-day injured list.

The 28-year-old left-hander had been sidelined since late May due to inflammation in his pitching elbow. He looked sharp in a minor league rehab appearance on Wednesday though and is ready to return to the Guardians’ bullpen. Will Dion was optioned to Triple-A Columbus in a corresponding move.

Erik Sabrowski (elbow) struck out two and recorded two outs on Wednesday in a minor league rehab appearance for Double-A Akron.

Sabrowski threw 20 pitches in his first rehab outing as he works his way back from elbow inflammation that put him on the injured list back in late May. The 28-year-old southpaw is one of the most underrated pitchers in the game, posting a sparkling 1.43 ERA and 100/38 K/BB ratio across 63 innings since 2024.

Erik Sabrowski (elbow) underwent an MRI that didn’t reveal any structural damage.

It’s an encouraging update, which likely takes surgical options off the table for now, after Sabrowski hit the injured list with elbow inflammation earlier this week. It’s not hyperbolic to say that he’s been one of the best relief pitchers in baseball for the last two years. There is no timetable for his return yet.

Guardians placed LHP Erik Sabrowski on the 15-day injured list with left elbow inflammation.

Elbow inflammation is always a concern, it’s more concerning from a pitcher that missed three months because of elbow issues, and Sabrowski did just that to begin 2026. The left-hander will miss at least two weeks, but this seems likely to be a longer stint on the injured list. It’s a big loss for the Guardians, as Sabrowski has been one of the best relievers in baseball with 17 holds and a 1.71 ERA over 21 innings.

Erik Sabrowski fired a scoreless inning on Friday against the Blue Jays to record his 10th hold of the season.

Sabrowski has been one of the most effective high-leverage arms in baseball over the past three seasons with a microscopic 1.65 ERA and 81/30 K/BB ratio across 54 2/3 innings. The 28-year-old lefty has allowed just four runs with a 20/5 K/BB ratio over 12 2/3 innings while becoming the first reliever to reach double-digit holds this season.

Guardians activated LHP Erik Sabrowski off the 60-day injured list.

Sabrowski comes off the 60-day IL after missing over three months with his elbow injury. He’ll be a middle-inning option for the Cleveland bullpen now that he’s healthy enough to compete in such a role.

Guardians transferred LHP Erik Sabrowski to the 60-day injured list.

It’s merely a procedural move to free up a spot on Cleveland’s 40-man roster. The 27-year-old lefty remains out indefinitely with left elbow inflammation.

Guardians placed LHP Erik Sabrowski on the 15-day injured list with left elbow inflammation.

Erik Sabrowski received an anti-inflammatory injection in his elbow Friday.

The left-hander will be out of action with no estimate on when he’ll be able to return. When healthy, Sabrowski is expected to be a middle-inning relief option.

Eric Sabrowski picked up his first career save for throwing 2 1/3 scoreless innings in a 5-1 win over the Cardinals on Friday.

The 26-year-old Sabrowski was making his sixth big-league appearance. He’s up to 10 scoreless innings with a 13/3 K/BB after this one. Emmanuel Clase had pitched the last two days, so the Guardians might have turned to Cade Smith had there been a save situation after eight innings tonight. However, since it was a four-run game, Sabrowski got to finish.
