  • DET Relief Pitcher #64
Tigers re-signed RHP Geoff Hartlieb to a minor league contract.
Hartlieb was designated for assignment and elected free agency at the end of July, but the 31-year-old tested the waters and decided a return to Detroit was the best move. He’ll be organizational depth while he’s employed by the club.
  • DET Relief Pitcher #64
Tigers sent RHP Geoff Hartlieb outright to Triple-A Toledo.
Hartlieb passed through waivers unclaimed after being designated for assignment earlier this week to make room for reliever Luke Jackson. The 31-year-old journeyman made a pair of relief appearances for the Tigers during his brief stint with the club. There’s a chance he opts to stick around as emergency organizational depth, but he figures to elect free agency.

Tigers selected the contract of RHP Geoff Hartlieb from Triple-A Toledo.
The 31-year-old hurler was signed to a minor league deal over the All-Star break. Hartlieb holds a 3.86 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and a 42/10 K/BB ratio across 37 1/3 innings at the Triple-A level this season. He’ll add a fresh arm to a depleted Tigers’ bullpen for Thursday’s series opener against the Blue Jays.

Tigers signed RHP Geoff Hartlieb to a minor league contract.
The 31-year-old hurler elected free agency from the Yankees on Friday and it didn’t take him long to find another viable opportunity with a contender. He’ll report to Triple-A Toledo to begin his Tigers’ tenure, but don’t be surprised to see him in Motown shortly after the All-Star break.
  • FA Relief Pitcher #64
Geoff Hartlieb has elected free agency.
The 31-year-old right-hander was designated for assignment earlier in the week and passed through waivers unclaimed. Rather than accepting an outright assignment to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre though, he’ll hit the open market. It shouldn’t take him long to land on his feet elsewhere.
  • NYY Relief Pitcher #64
Yankees designated RHP Geoff Hartlieb for assignment.
The Yankees needed to make room on the 40-man roster for Cam Schlittler to make his debut on Wednesday, so Hartlieb was designated for assignment. He will likely clear waivers and return to the Yankees’ minor league system.
  • NYY Relief Pitcher #64
Yankees signed RHP Geoff Hartlieb to a one-year contract.
