    With Mark Leiter Jr. (hip) returning from the injured list on Friday, someone needed to get the boot from the A’s bullpen and it looks like Hartlieb drew the short straw this time around. Hartlieb posted a 5.19 ERA, 1.62 WHIP and a 3/3 K/BB ratio across 8 2/3 innings in his four appearances with the Athletics.

    Athletics selected the contract of RHP Geoff Hartlieb from Triple-A Las Vegas.

    Hartlieb, 32, will be making his 2026 season and Athletics’ debut. The journeyman has a 7.95 ERA in 68 major league appearances since debuting with the Pirates in 2019. He had a 3.48 ERA and a 41/10 K/BB in 33 2/3 innings in a tough Triple-A environment this season.
