    Marlins’ minor league first baseman Jaime Ortiz was suspended 50 games for testing positive for a banned substance.
    Ortiz tested positive for metabolites of Stanozolol, a performance-enhancing substance. The 23-year-old has a .248/.314/.388 over parts of seven seasons in the minors and was hitting .188 (6-for-32) over his first 14 games with Double-A Jacksonville this season. Not surprisingly, Baseball America didn’t include him in the organization’s top 30 prospects during the offseason.
