Orioles signed 1B/OF Joe Maloney to a minor league contract.
Maloney lit up two different independent leagues this year, posting a .999 OPS with 35 home runs, 102 RBI, and 18 stolen bases in 101 games between the Rockland Boulders of the Canadian-American Association and the Somerset Patriots of the Atlantic League. The 27-year-old was a 10th-round pick of the Rangers in 2011 out of Limestone College.
