Royals recalled RHP Jose Cuas from Triple-A Omaha.

Cuas was just optioned to Triple-A on Monday, but with Maikel Garcia (hamstring) hitting the injured list on Friday, they’re able to bring him back before the 10 days are up. The 32-year-old hurler holds a stellar 1.64 ERA and a 13/4 K/BB ratio despite a shaky 1.46 WHIP over 11 innings in 10 appearances with the Royals this season. He’ll function in a middle relief role once again for manager Matt Quatraro.

Royals optioned RHP Jose Cuas to Triple-A Omaha.

Cuas’s latest stint with the Royals is going to be remembered for his hesitation delivery to Dodgers slugger Max Muncy. That’s pretty much it. The 32-year-old heads back to the minors after forging a respectable 1.64 ERA across 11 innings of work.

Royals recalled RHP Jose Cuas from Triple-A Omaha.

Cuas is up to join the Royals pen for a third time this season after allowing two runs in 6 1/3 innings the first two go arounds. He has a career 4.30 ERA in 125 2/3 innings since debuting in 2022.

Royals optioned RHP Jose Cuas to Triple-A Omaha.

Cuas pitched in five games with the Royals in this latest stint, and he now carries a 2.84 ERA, nine strikeouts, one walk and eight hits allowed in 6 1/3 innings pitched. He did allow some inherited runners to score, we suppose, but we’re mildly surprised the Royals aren’t interested in seeing more. After 32 pitches over the past two days, he heads back to the Storm Chasers.

Cuas time with the big league club lasted just one day this time around as the 32-year-old hurler heads back to Triple-A Omaha with Stephen Kolek returning from the family medical emergency list on Thursday. Cuas allowed one run on two hits while striking out three batters over two innings against the Rays on Wednesday.

Royals selected the contract of RHP Jose Cuas from Triple-A Omaha.

Cuas finds himself back with the Royals after spending the first three months of the year toiling away on the doorstep of the majors. The 32-year-old made 92 appearances for Kansas City from 2022-2023 and hasn’t pitched in the big leagues since the 2024 campaign.

Royals signed RHP José Cuas to a minor league contract.

Cuas returns to the Royals; the organization he’s had the most MLB success with in his short career. The 31-year-old will need to have a strong spring training if he’s going to join the Kansas City bullpen.

Braves signed RHP Jose Cuas to a minor league contract.

Cuas was in camp this spring with the Phillies after making 13 relief appearances last year between the Cubs and Blue Jays. The 30-year-old righty provides Atlanta with some extra organizational relief depth. He holds a serviceable 4.37 ERA across 119 1/3 innings (132 appearances) in the majors since 2022.

Phillies reassigned INF Rodolfo Castro, LHP Nick Vespi, RHP Koyo Aoyagi, RHP Jose Cuas, RHP Joel Kuhnel, RHP John McMillon, RHP Guillo Zuniga to minor league camp.

Castro represents the lone position player shipped out to minor league camp in the latest batch of Phillies cuts. There are a handful of notable relief options sent packing here with Vespi, McMillion, Zuniga, Cuas and Kuhnel all likely to get chances in Philadelphia as middle relief depth. Aoyagi pitched well in three spring appearances after signing a minor-league contract with the Phillies. He’ll open the year back at Triple-A Lehigh Valley as extra depth.
