Jose Peraza has signed with Leones de Yucatan of the independent Mexican League.
Peraza spent last year at Triple-A Syracuse in the Mets’ minor-league system and hasn’t appeared in the majors since the 2021 campaign.
  • FA Shortstop #81
Mets signed INF/OF José Peraza to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
It’s not the flashy, headline-grabbing type of move that the Mets have become accustomed to this off-season, but Peraza makes for a nice depth signing. He appeared in 64 games with the club back in 2021 -- slashing .204/.266/.380 with six homers, 20 RBI and one stolen base.

  • FA Shortstop #81
Red Sox signed INF/OF José Peraza to a minor league contract.
Peraza was released by the Yankees earlier this month after hitting only .243/.293/.374 in 63 games with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. The 28-year-old played for the Red Sox during the shortened 2020 season.

  • FA Shortstop #81
    Yankees released INF José Peraza.
Peraza failed to land a spot on the Yankees’ season-opening roster after signing a minor league contract last November. The 28-year-old infielder has been released after hitting .243/.293/.374 with five homers and three steals across 229 plate appearances in 63 games this season for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

  • FA Shortstop #81
Yankees re-assigned INF/OFs Jose Peraza and Philip Evans, RHPs Matt Bowman and Ryan Weber, INF Ronald Guzman and OF Ryan LaMarre to minor league camp.
There’s plenty of major league experience in this group, but none of them were able to crack a talented Yankees roster.

Yankees signed INF José Peraza to a minor league contract.
Can’t the Mets go one hour without being overshadowed by the Yankees? Come on now. Peraza, 27, appeared in 64 games with the Mets this past season while slashing .204/.266/.380 with six homers in 154 plate appearances. He could compete for a bench job in the spring.

  • FA Shortstop #81
José Peraza has elected free agency.
Peraza has declined an outright assignment to Triple-A Syracuse and will become a free agent instead. The 27-year-old came up big in clutch situations for the Mets this season, batting .333 as a pinch hitter, but slashed just .204/.266/.380 over 142 at-bats. He should be able to latch on as organizational depth somewhere this offseason.

  • FA Shortstop #81
Mets activated INF José Peraza from the 10-day injured list.
The 27-year-old has been out of action since July 20 with a fractured finger. Peraza will return to a bench role in Queens after batting .205 over 127 at-bats earlier this season. Albert Almora was optioned to Triple-A in a corresponding move.

  • FA Shortstop #81
Jose Peraza (finger) took ground balls with a protective glove on his right hand on Friday.
Mets skipper Luis Rojas told reporters that Peraza is going to remain in a split for a while still and that he hasn’t resumed throwing yet, but he’s at least making progress. At this point, there’s still no clear timetable for a potential return.

  • FA Shortstop #81
Mets placed INF Jose Peraza on the 10-day injured list with a fractured right middle finger.
There’s no timetable for his return at this point, but he figures to be out a while. Peraza leaves behind a .205/.263/.402 batting line with six home runs and zero stolen bases through 52 games (137 plate appearances) this season for New York.
