The Mets are hiring Guardians field coordinator Kai Correa as their new bench coach, reports Sports Illustrated’s Pat Ragazzo.
Ragazzo adds that Correa spent the last two seasons overseeing Cleveland’s baserunning and game strategy under manager Stephen Vogt. He was with the Giants as a bench coach for three seasons from 2020-2023. The 36-year-old adds a fresh voice to the dugout for Mets manager Carlos Mendoza as he enters his third season at the helm in New York.

FanSided’s Robert Murray reports the Guardians are hiring Kai Correa for an unspecified coaching role.
Correa spent the last three seasons as the Giants’ bench coach, and even had a three-game stint a few weeks ago as San Francisco’s interim manager following the late-September firing of manager Gabe Kapler. The 35-year-old joins newly-minted Guardians manager Stephen Vogt’s coaching staff and will likely be involved in at least some capacity with infielders and defensive instruction.
