Maybe Walrond has figured it out. The lefty was terrific at Triple-A Omaha in the second half of last season. He’s always had the stuff to be a useful reliever, so the Marlins should give him a long look this spring.

Walrond was 5-7 with a 2.61 ERA in 17 starts for Lehigh Valley, but he’ll join the Phillies’ bullpen. The veteran lefty will be making his first major league appearance since 2006, when he was with the Cubs.
