Phillies reassigned IF Aidan Miller, C Kehden Hettiger, C Mark Kolozsvary, C Caleb Ricketts, RHP Andrew Bechtold, and RHP Michael Mercado to minor league camp.
Miller, the major prospect on this list, did not appear in a Spring Training game while dealing with soreness. He’ll likely begin the year at Triple-A Lehigh Valley after a .259/.382/.427 line in 108 games at Double-A Reading in 2025. Miller remains an interesting fantasy prospect, but doesn’t appear to have an easy path to playing time this season in Philadelphia’s infield.

Phillies signed C Mark Kolozsvary to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
The 30-year-old Kolozsvary has played in 11 major league games: 10 with the Reds in 2022 and one with the Orioles in 2023. He’s spent the last two years in the Red Sox system, missing big chunks of both seasons due to injury. Overall, he’s played in 121 Triple-A games over parts of five seasons, hitting .194/.209/.338 in 407 plate appearances. He’ll enter camp no higher than fourth on the Phillies’ catching depth chart.
  • BOS Catcher #68
Kiley McDaniel of ESPN reports that the Red Sox signed C Mark Kolozvary to a minor league contract.
The deal includes an invitation to spring training. It’s a return to the organization for Kolosvary after he played 27 games for Triple-A Worcester in 2024 with a .703 OPS. While he could spend time with the Red Sox, it’s more likely he is just a depth piece who helps work with the pitchers on the Woo Sox roster.

Red Sox signed C Mark Kolozsvary to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
The 28-year-old has spent most of his career in the Reds organization but saw time in the Twins and Orioles farm system in 2023. His minor-league hitting stats are nothing to write home about, slashing .211/.320/.341 across 1,211 minor league plate appearances. On a positive note, Kolozsvary has thrown out 109 of 360 attempted stolen bases (30% caught stealing rate).
  • PHI Catcher #61
Twins signed C Mark Kolozsvary to a minor league contract.
Kolozsvary latches on with the Twins just a few days after electing free agency following his removal from Baltimore’s 40-man roster. the 27-year-old backstop got into one game this season for the Orioles and represents some emergency catching depth for Minnesota moving forward.

  • PHI Catcher #61
Mark Kolozsvary has elected free agency.
The 27-year-old backstop had been designated for assignment by the Orioles earlier in the week. Rather than accepting an outright assignment to Triple-A Norfolk though, he’ll instead explore the open market. Kolozsvary appeared in one game, but did not get a plate appearance during his brief stay with the Orioles.

  • PHI Catcher #61
Orioles designated C Mark Kolozsvary for assignment.
Kolozsvary was up with the Orioles for just one contest before being shipped back to Triple-A Norfolk and ultimately removed from their 40-man roster ahead of Wednesday’s contest against the Blue Jays.

  • PHI Catcher #61
Orioles optioned C Mark Kolozsvary to Triple-A Norfolk.
Kolozsvary was just called up Tuesday, and he caught the final inning of his one game on the roster. He’ll remain on the 40-man for now, but that might not last.

  • PHI Catcher #61
Orioles selected the contract of C Mark Kolozsvary from Triple-A Norfolk.
With Ryan Mountcastle landing on the injured list with vertigo on Tuesday, Kolozsvary will provide a fresh bat off of the bench for at least a day or two. The 27-year-old was hitting just .172/.250/.299 with three homers and nine RBI in 96 plate appearances in the minor leagues this season.

  • PHI Catcher #61
Orioles sent C Mark Kolozsvary outright to Triple-A Norfolk.
Kolozsvary went unclaimed after being removed from the 40-man roster. He had just recently been claimed off waivers from the Reds in October. Kolosvary can elect to test free agency, or could still compete for a backup gig with the O’s in Florida.
