Perisho

Perisho had a 6.52 ERA for Triple-A Durham during the first half of the season. He’ll be used as a reliever for Tucson.

Perisho was non-tendered by the Marlins last month after the team initially offered him $425,000. He’s getting a little more than that now. Lefties hit just .207 off him last season.

He considers himself fortunate. The accident ejected his six-year-old son from the car, but the child was left with only cuts and bruises. One of the occupants of the other vehicle is in an induced coma after suffering a broken neck. Perisho will compete for a spot in Florida’s bullpen this spring.

In addition to activating Keith Foulke and calling up Perisho, the Red Sox are also officially activating Chad Harville today, giving them three additional pitchers. Perisho had allowed three runs in 13 innings since joining Pawtucket. He’ll be another lefty specialist.

If the Red Sox were willing to do this, why didn’t they bring up Hyzdu several days ago? Perisho gave up a hit to the only batter he faced and was charged with an earned run in his only appearance with the Red Sox.
