Nationals acquired LHP Matt Spann as the player to be named later in the David DeJesus trade.
Spann, a 25th-round pick in the 2010 MLB Amateur Draft, registered a 2.87 ERA, 1.48 WHIP and 35/21 K/BB ratio in 59 2/3 innings this season at the lower levels of the Rays’ minor league system. He’s not much of a prospect.
