Marlins @ Phillies

He also went 2-for-4 in his first game. The Phillies seem to be leaning towards keeping De La Cruz around next year after he hit .280/.349/.413 in 34 games in the second half of the season. If so, it’d probably be as a platoon partner to Brandon Marsh in left field.

That’s a rarity. In fact, he’s just the 10th pitcher since 2005 to strike out 10 in an AFL game. Williams, a 27-year-old Stanford product, is far from one of the AFL’s top prospects, having posted a 5.78 ERA in Double-A last season. He currently has a 3.86 ERA in 14 innings in Arizona. He’s not on the Marlins’ 40-man roster, but he probably will get an invitation to camp in the spring.

The Phillies’ second-ranked prospect played just four games in the 2026 season due to back issues. He’s been producing in 14 AFL games, hitting .333/.562/.500 with six steals and an impressive 24/16 K/BB ratio. Miller’s future position remains in question, but he should start the 2027 season at Triple-A with a chance to be promoted if he gets off to a good start.

Stubbs passed through waivers unclaimed after losing his spot on Philadelphia’s 40-man roster. The 33-year-old backup catcher heads to free agency at the outset of the offseason.

Monteverde loses his spot on Miami’s 40-man roster heading into the offseason after allowing four runs over four innings during his lone relief appearance at the highest level this past season.

White heads to Baltimore as organizational relief depth after allowing five runs and recording only two outs during his lone appearance for Miami this past season.

Whitcomb has shown flashes of potential but has yet to establish himself as an everyday option at the big-league level. The versatile 28-year-old finally received an extended look with San Francisco this past season after being buried by the Astros for a couple years. He hit just .226 (21-for-93) with two homers and two steals during a 32-game showcase. He’s too old to be considered a prospect anymore and he’s probably running out of chances to carve out a role in the majors. Philadelphia is an interesting landing spot considering they don’t have a ton of bench depth entering the offseason.

Harris continues to bounce around the majors as a reserve infielder. The well-traveled 28-year-old logged stints with the Athletics, Red Sox and Giants this past season, hitting .136 (6-for-44) in limited action. He’s merely organizational depth at this stage of his career.

Weston pitched to a 7.18 ERA in 57 2/3 innings at Triple-A for the Mets and Orioles in 2026, but he did have a 27 percent strikeout rate. The Marlins will try to get the most out of that, but the 26-year-old has just four MLB innings.

Zuber recently underwent internal brace surgery that could keep him out for all of next year. Navarreto spent the final three-plus months of the season on the roster as a backup to Joe Mack, but he didn’t play much, hitting .135/.193/.250 in 61 plate appearances.
